So at the very least they probably know each other from the bar. He's probably not formally one of her teachers or anything but maybe some kind of informal mentoring aspect can come into play, where he's helped her out with things. Since she also doesn't go to school full-time that leaves more opportunities for them to run into each other and interact during the days.
