Apparently small talk is what's happening now and while Ren abhors the idea, he knows he has to play nice. He looks at the man again, wondering why he's even bothering to initiate conversation. Ren tries to probe into his mind, seeing if he can get an idea behind his motivations -- if they lie beyond simple curiosity.

"Comes with practice," Ren replies, knowing he likely can't get away with any more curt answers. It's easier to read someone when you get them talking anyway. Brings the thoughts forward, makes them nearly impossible to obscure.
