[ laying low and staying out of it has been Emma's policy here. reacting instead of raising hell, waiting out the conflict until it's too much for her to ignore. there are people making moves here who she'd fight for, and odd events that can't be explained, but the savior takes all of that in; everything from the things that go bump in the night to Linda's suspiciously good blondies (the secret ingredient is probably poison).
