She can be judgmental about your mistakes, because she's trying to be a sort of moral pillar, but also very empathetic about your misfortunes. She doesn't need you, she really insists to herself she doesn't need you, she's lived her whole life not needing anyone, but recognises you might need her and she's a helper.
