[ There's something.... uncomfortable about the way that the man looks over him, like he's being sized up and immediately judged based on nothing more than his exterior appearance -- which is unmistakably teenager with his mess of unkempt blonde hair, and an obscure punk band tshirt and ripped jeans on his lanky frame. It makes him fidget nervously, pulling idly at strands of his hair, tugging at the bottom of his shirt in a useless attempt to straighten out the few wrinkles in it and kicking uselessly at the ground beneath his feet.

He almost wants to disappear, an odd and yet familiar feeling of both being there and also not returning to him. Maybe it's a memory, or maybe it's just a result of feeling awkward. Either way, it passes once the man speaks.

Noah pulls a face at the words. Even with as strange as this town is -- and Noah has come to the conclusion that it's probably one of the oddest places on the planet -- he knows for a fact that there's not any truck throwing around free food, nor did they have an elephant (because he's pretty sure that he would have seen at least one of those things if there were.)

And besides, he's not seven years old. The promise of an elephant doesn't astound and amaze him. ]

I'm serious. This place wasn't weird enough with the whole "don't talk about this, don't think about that", and now everything just closes down in the middle of the day?
